As a result of Duravant’s recent acquisition of MARELEC and the company’s intent to acquire more businesses based in Europe, Erik Blom, who has served as President of Foodmate NL, will transition into a new Europe-Based Business Development role. Initially, Erik will serve as Interim President of Marelec following Piet Rommelaere’s transition to a Senior Advisor role, and Erik will also serve as Interim General Manager of Votech.
Duravant and Foodmate recognize Erik’s impact on Foodmate since becoming president. He has strengthened the management team, accelerated growth, reinvigorated new product development, and formed an important bond with Jim James, President of Foodmate US, and the entire Foodmate US team.
With Erik’s transition, we are pleased to announce that David Wilson will serve as President of Foodmate NL. David brings over 25 years of diverse leadership experience from the food processing industry, including almost 15 years in Poultry processing. Most recently, he was the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Marel Meat, based in The Netherlands. At Marel, he also served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Further Processing and Senior Vice President for Marel Poultry, North America.
David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Business Management and a Master’s in Animal Sciences from the University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland. David is in the process of relocating to the Numansdorp area, where he will reside.
